REPORT ON THE SOS - JAPAN SUPPORT TO THE PIG FARMERS COOPERATIVE SOCIETY (NOWEPFA COOP BOD) NORTH WEST REGION CAMEROON
(This report covers the period April to June 2018)

Report:
SOS Japan project in Cameroon with the Pig Farmers cooperative under the leadership /coordination of Titus Atomba have benefited from iron windows and door shorter for the cooperative building in Bawock. The project currently is working on the bio-security fence of Mobile Livestock Common initiative group and funding is sent quarterly from Japan.
This time, the swine fever outbreak took away the lives of many pigs including pigs donated by Djouke, the Dutch girl's project. Therefore the fencing project was suspended because all attention of the project coordinator was tilted towards the urgent need to evaluate the loss and assist in the sales of those that could be sold.
This required the repairs of the cooperative refrigerator which was not functioning in order to give someone who will help the farmers slaughter and sell their pigs such that they will realized more money than they will sell to the pig buyers or middle men.
A young man named, Backanta did the pork sales and so kept the cooperative Deep freezer after it was repaired for this purpose with him at Nsongwa, mile 90, Bamenda 2 sub-division.
Since the start of the swine fever in April, Backanta has sold close to 200 pigs belonging to both members of the cooperative and the public. Many pig farmers have testified that through him they have recovered much money than they sold through pig buyers/middlemen thanks to the fact that he could preserve using our cooperative deep freezer.
It should be noted that this young man and his team are not working for the cooperative but were offered the cooperative deep freeze on conditions that he was going to pay a fairly good price for pigs of cooperative members that needed to be slaughtered.
That exactly is what he is doing as members have testified. Most pigs from all the areas visited during the evaluation were sold by Backanta.
The accounts of Matthew7;12 that we should do on to others what we will want other to do on to us.
In effect, I think that this bible quotation is stressing on the fact that people should not always stay on the receiving side but rather think also of giving to others as they have been happily receiving from others.
Considering this bible book account priority was given to the suffering masses rather than for the bio-security fence project.
